  • Queensland Medical Device Industry Analysis (sponsored by AusBiotech)

Fifteen medical device companies in Queensland participated in a survey designed to develop a profile of the industry needs and areas where government support could be provided. The survey participants included a range of companies at different stages of the product development pipeline (from prototype to exporting finished product), those manufacturing internally or outsourcing, those with Class 1, 2 or 2a products, annual turnovers ranging from less than $100k to over $5 million, revenue growth of zero to more than 30% per annum, those generating over 50% of their revenue from exports to those generating less than 5% and those employing less than 5 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff to more than 100 FTE.

The data gathered from the survey highlighted various issues that affect the growth and future of the industry.
